Getting Started

Questions people ask before committing to solar.

Questions 05
For most properties in Bhopal with a moderate to high electricity bill and reasonable roof exposure, solar is worth it over the long term. A well-designed system typically reduces grid dependence, protects against rising tariffs, and pays back its cost within a few years of operation. We assess your usage and site before recommending anything, so the decision is based on your actual numbers — not a generic pitch.
System size depends on your average monthly consumption (from your electricity bill), usable roof area and how much of your daytime load you want to offset. As a rough guide, a 1 kW system generates around 4–5 units per day in good sunlight. We size systems around actual usage — not guesswork — so you don't over-invest or under-generate.
Standard grid-tied solar systems shut down automatically during a power cut for safety reasons (to protect linemen working on the grid). If you want backup power during outages, you'd need a hybrid system with battery storage. We can design systems as battery-ready so you can add storage later without replacing the inverter.
A rough estimate is 80–100 sq. ft. per kW of installed capacity, depending on panel efficiency and how the panels are arranged. Shadow-free roof area is more important than total area. During the free site survey, we assess usable space, shadow patterns and structural suitability.
  • On-grid (grid-tied): Most common. Connects to the DISCOM grid, exports excess via net metering. No backup during outages.
  • Off-grid: Fully independent with battery storage. Best for remote sites with no grid connection.
  • Hybrid: Grid-tied + battery backup. Gives savings plus power during outages, at a higher upfront cost.
We'll recommend the right type based on your usage, location and backup needs.

Costs & Savings

Understanding the numbers — investment, returns and payback.

Questions 05
Cost depends on system size, panel and inverter brand, and type (on-grid vs hybrid). As a rough range, residential systems typically start from ₹55,000–₹65,000 per kW before subsidy, with commercial systems priced separately based on scale. The best way to get a clear number is a free site assessment — we'll give you a transparent, itemised quote.
Savings depend on your current tariff, daytime usage and system size. Most residential customers see a 60–90% reduction in monthly bills after installation, with excess generation credited via net metering. Commercial customers typically see a 20–40% reduction in overall electricity cost depending on load profile.
A typical residential system pays back in 4 to 7 years through bill savings and, where applicable, subsidy. After that, the system continues generating power — effectively free electricity — for 20+ more years. Commercial and industrial systems often pay back faster due to higher tariffs and larger daytime loads.
Yes — solar loans and EMI options are available through partner banks and NBFCs. Many customers find that the EMI is roughly equal to or less than the electricity bill they were already paying, effectively making the transition cash-neutral from month one. We can guide you on available options during the consultation.
In most cases, yes — but much lower. Grid-tied solar systems keep you connected to the DISCOM for night-time and low-sun hours. Any excess generation is credited to your account via net metering. If your generation consistently exceeds usage, the residual bill is minimal — often just fixed charges.

Installation

Timelines, roof requirements and what happens on-site.

Questions 05
Residential installations typically take 3 to 7 working days on-site, from mounting to commissioning. Larger commercial and industrial systems may take 2 to 6 weeks depending on scale, site access and structural work. Add 2–6 weeks for documentation and DISCOM approvals where applicable.
No. We use structural-grade mounting systems designed to distribute weight evenly without damaging roofing materials. Where required, we seal and waterproof mounting points as part of installation. Any pre-existing roof issues are flagged during the survey so they can be addressed beforehand.
You don't need to be present for the full duration, but it helps to be available at the start (to confirm placement and access) and at the end (for handover and commissioning). For commercial and institutional sites, we coordinate with your site manager to minimise disruption.
Almost any solid roof works — RCC, metal sheet, tiled or sloping. Each requires a slightly different mounting approach, and we select the appropriate structure during the site survey. The key requirement is shadow-free exposure and structural strength, both of which we assess before finalising the design.
Yes, in most cases. We design systems with future expansion in mind — leaving room in the inverter capacity and roof layout where possible. Adding panels later may need additional wiring or a larger inverter, but is usually straightforward if planned for upfront.

Documentation & Subsidy

Net metering, DISCOM approvals and government incentives.

Questions 05
Yes. Documentation support is included as standard with our installations. We manage the net metering application, DISCOM coordination, interconnection approvals, commissioning certificates and warranty registrations on your behalf.
Net metering lets you export excess solar generation to the grid and receive credit against your electricity bill. Your meter tracks both import and export — you only pay for the net difference. Credits typically roll over month to month (subject to DISCOM policy), reducing your effective cost significantly.
Yes — subsidy schemes are available for eligible residential installations under MNRE programs, with the amount depending on system size and current policy. We check your eligibility during consultation and handle the paperwork end-to-end, including submission and follow-up with the relevant authority.
Timelines vary by DISCOM and area, but typically:
  • Net metering application: 1–2 weeks to submit
  • DISCOM feasibility approval: 2–4 weeks
  • Meter installation after commissioning: 1–3 weeks
We track the process and follow up so you don't have to.
For residential: latest electricity bill, ID proof, address proof and a cancelled cheque (for subsidy/bank details). For commercial: additional documents like GST registration, property ownership proof and authorised signatory details. We'll give you a clear checklist once we begin.

Maintenance & Support

Warranties, upkeep and what happens after installation.

Questions 05
  • Solar panels: 25-year performance warranty (typically 80% output guarantee).
  • Inverters: 5–12 years depending on brand and model.
  • Mounting structure: 5–10 years depending on material.
  • Workmanship: 1–5 years on installation quality from our side.
All warranties are registered on your behalf at the time of commissioning.
Solar is low-maintenance, but not zero-maintenance. Panels need cleaning every few weeks (or less in low-dust areas), and the system benefits from an annual check of wiring, inverter and mounting. We offer annual, quarterly and monthly plans so you can pick the level that suits your site.
Yes. Most modern inverters come with a mobile app or web dashboard that shows generation in real time. You can track daily, monthly and lifetime output, and see if the system under-performs so issues can be caught early. We help set up monitoring during commissioning.
Get in touch with us directly. If the issue is covered under warranty (panel defect, inverter fault, etc.), we coordinate with the manufacturer on your behalf. If it's outside warranty, we diagnose and repair at transparent rates. Customers on maintenance plans get priority response.
Yes, all panels degrade — but slowly. Typical degradation is around 0.5–0.7% per year, meaning panels retain roughly 80% of their original output after 25 years. This is factored into the 25-year performance warranty. Regular cleaning and prompt fault-fixing keep degradation in check.
